The COP28 Presidency has announced the establishment of the Technical Cooperation Collaborative (TCC) during the Bonn Climate Change Conference, with the aim of supporting the implementation of the COP28 UAE Declaration on Sustainable Agriculture, Resilient Food Systems, and Climate Action. This initiative, introduced at an event titled ‘Mobilising for Climate Action and 2025 NDCs through Sustainable Agriculture and Resilient Food Systems,’ represents a crucial step in advancing the Declaration's goals of adapting and transforming agriculture and food systems to address climate change challenges and meet the Paris Agreement objectives. The TCC, comprised of various partners, will provide countries with technical cooperation to assist in achieving the Declaration's objectives. Adnan Amin, CEO of COP28, emphasized the significance of the Declaration, endorsed by 159 countries, in addressing the interplay between food systems, agriculture, and climate change, stressing its pivotal role in achieving climate goals. The event in Bonn marks the initiation of concerted efforts to support countries in realizing the Declaration's objectives, including updating their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to incorporate food systems and implementing policy shifts and investments for climate action through agriculture and food systems. Founding members of the TCC include COP28 UAE, Italy, the United States, the United Kingdom, and several international organizations focused on agriculture, food security, and climate resilience.
