NATIONAL STAR: Nigerian government has reveal its 2024 food inflation plans
19 January 2024

The National Start reported that on Friday, the Federal Government of Nigeria announced that initiatives to lower the nation's food inflation rate are underway.

This was stated by Senator Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, during a courtesy visit to Abuja from Jigawa Governor Umar Namadi. According to him, achieving food security and reducing food inflation were among the ministry's objectives.

"We also plan to produce in large quantities to reduce food inflation, as food price inflation is currently the main cause of inflation," he stated.

According to Kyari, President Bola Tinubu's food security policy is moving forward.

He declared that in order to benefit Nigerians, food production programs would continue in 2024.

"The Ministry's main objective is to increase the production of staple crops significantly via the application of technology and mechanization."

As we strive to make Nigeria a more food-secure nation, we are appreciative of the President’s assistance and direction. We are ready to carry out our plans in accordance with his goals for the agriculture industry.

He declared, "We are committed to leading the transformation of agriculture, boosting productivity, and making sure our farmers have the resources they need to succeed."
