On 19 July 2023, His Excellency Mr. Yerlan A. Baidaulet, the Director General of the Islamic Organization of Food Security (IOFS), was received at Office of His Excellency Ambassador Yerkin Tukumov, Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies Under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KISI) to discuss ways and means to establish a result-oriented cooperation between the two Institutions.
The meeting was productive in assurances provided by the host on his Institute to align some of its programmes with the work of IOFS. In this context, it was agreed that KISI would define the manner in which it would cooperate with the IOFS in the implementation of Afghanistan Food Security Program (AFSP). It was further agreed that the IOFS would have a prominent role at the convening of the Central Asian Security and Cooperation Forum that is now expected to be held annually in the month of July in Astana, after the successful holding of the 1st Edition on 13-14 of the current month. These and other issues are to merit wider exchanges when Director Yerkin visits the IOFS Headquarters, as an invitation for such a purpose was addressed by Prof. Yerlan.
During the discussions, the Director General was assisted by Mr. Abdula Manafi Mutualo, Advisor at Coordination & Cooperation Department, and Mr. Emre Yuksek, Humanitarian Affairs Manager.
