During a recent cabinet meeting, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Al Sayed Al Qusair announced that Egypt achieved its highest-ever agricultural export quantity in 2023, totaling 7.5 million tons and generating revenues of $8.8 billion. Notably, Egypt secured the top position in orange and frozen strawberry exports. The minister highlighted that fresh goods contributed $3.7 billion to the revenue, while processed food accounted for $5.1 billion. Egypt expanded its export reach significantly, with exports reaching 160 countries and introducing 400 agricultural products to the global market over the past decade. In April, South Korea's Hansan Global expressed interest in importing oranges from Egypt, showcasing the country's growing appeal in international markets. Additionally, Egypt maintained its position as the largest orange exporter to the European Union, with exports surpassing 500,000 tons in 2023. In Southeast Asia, Egypt emerged as the leading orange exporter between October 2022 and February 2023, underscoring its increasing prominence in global agricultural trade.
