Second day of the visit of IOFS delegation to Jeddah

The Intergovernmental Expert Group Meeting on the review of the OIC-2025: Programme of Action concluded its work on December 28, 2021 by adopting the final report.

Participants of the meeting, especially representatives of permanent missions of OIC member states provided their comments and recommendations with regard to the provisions of the document and emphasized on the perspectives that shall be incorporated in priorities on the section “Ways Forward” of the mentioned Programme.

Within the framework of the event, the IOFS Director General was pleased to have a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H.E. Mr. Akram M. Karim, where the sides jointly discussed different issues related to the implementation of IOFS Programs in Tajikistan in 2022.

In the same day, the IOFS Director General H.E. Mr. Yerlan A. Baidaulet had other working meetings. One of them was conducted with Ambassador Mohamed Salah Tekaya, the Director General of the Department of Political Affairs and Mr. El Habib Bourane, the Director of Muslim Communities and Minorities of the Department of Political Affairs. The sides discussed the possible ways of cooperation and agreed to identify projects/programs in food security that can be implemented within the IOFS strategic framework, including for the Muslim refugees, especially, the Rohingya people.

In addition, the IOFS Director General conducted the extensive meeting with His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA). The Director General of IOFS upon the general presentation about the IOFS, its current programmes and future plans, highlighted the necessity of working together, most notably, in the implementation of the Resolutions of the 17th Extraordinary session of the OIC CFM on the humanitarian siuation in Afghanistan and the IOFS Afghanistan Food Security Programme.
