On August 2, 2022 Director General of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security, HE Yerlan A. Baidaulet during the visit to Palestine, held a meeting with the Prime Minister HE Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh.
The IOFS Director General discussed with Head of Government the aspects of close bilateral cooperation with state investment agencies and elaborated on the joint implementation of the National Food Sectors Development strategy.
Next meeting was arranged with the Ambassador of Palestine in Kazakhstan, HE Mr. Dr. Muntaser Abu Zeid. Parties during the meeting agreed to strengthen the cooperation between IOFS and Palestine diplomatic mission to follow up the current visit resolutions. The meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine, HE Mr. Riyadh al-Maliki was devoted to discussing of strengthening the close cooperation and assuring the regular communication between entities, particularly in joint implementation of IOFS-2022 “Year of Africa” initiative.
Further meeting was arranged with the Minister of Agriculture of Palestine HE Mr. Riad Attari. At the meeting IOFS Director General H.E. Mr Yerlan Baidaulet gave an overview of IOFS foundation as the OIC specialized institution, IOFS Strategic Framework and IOFS Strategy 2031 with particular attention given to the IOFS humanitarian programs and Afghanistan Food Security Programme. Special attention was paid to the establishment of a task force between IOFS and the Ministry.
Next part of the meeting involved the OIC representative office to the State of Palestine in Ramallah, with its head Mr.Ahmad Hanoun. Parties underscored role of IOFS in supporting the Palestinian people, helping to build sustainable food safety and insecurity in the country.
