On April 12, 2022 Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Republics of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Rachid Maaninou met with IOFS Director General H.E.Mr. Yerlan A. Baidaulet.
IOFS Director General and its team welcomed the Ambassador and expressed appreciation for the visit and for the commendable effort in assisting to organize the recent visit of IOFS to the Kingdom of Morocco. Hereafter was a brief overview of the visit that included a number of bilateral meetings, particularly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, H.E. Ambassador Fouad Yazourh; Secretary General of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Waters and Forests, H.E.Mr. Redhouane Arrach; President of the Chamber of Commerce, of Industry and Services of Casablanca-Settat, Mr Hassan Berkani and with several Moroccan officials where implementation of the activities and programs of the IOFS was discussed.
Highlights of conversation concerned to IOFS recent humanitarian visit to Kabul, Afghanistan and delivering of water cleaning Oasis Boxes to Afghan people within the OIC Afghanistan Food security Program mandate to IOFS. Parties also discussed the possibility of hosting several IOFS events within Year of Africa 2022 in Morocco and participation of the Moroccan Minister of Agriculture at the IOFS High-Level Forum on Food Security in Almaty, 8-9 June.
Ambassador Maaninou furthermore discussed opportunities for business cooperation in the sphere of fruit and vegetable trade exports by implementing a partnership with IFPA, trading livestock veterinary medicines, participation of Moroccan delegation at the agricultural trade fairs in Kazakhstan and establishing bilateral cooperation with agrarian research universities to exchange best practices and technical expertise in sustainable agricultural development.
Ambassador extended heartfelt appreciation for outstanding hospitality and assured willingness to cooperate with IOFS to implement targeted events and projects.
