On 24 March, the Director-General of IOFS H.E. Yerlan Baidaulet delivered an opening speech at the Middle East Food Security Expo and Summit held in an online-format for two consecutive days. The speech was followed by the presentation focused on IOFS’s role as an OIC multilateral umbrella for ensuring Food Security in Member countries, the state of Food Security in the OIC region, as well as several programs where IOFS can collaborate with GCC countries, particularly with the Sultanate of Oman.

The event was organized by the White Paper Summits LLC, which headquartered in the Sultanate of Oman and founded by a group of industry experts with over 50 years of collective experience in developing and delivering successful events in various cross industry dimensions.

The Summit provided an inter-regional platform with a B2B & B2G international trade expo and summit presenting developments in Food Security at all spatial levels from local, to global markets and from an interdisciplinary and systemic food systems perspective. It also featured the participation from C-level executives, thought leaders, government decision makers, focused investors, entrepreneurs, corporates, food executives, researchers, technology experts, innovators, from across the agriculture and food production supply chain, to uncover disruption within the industry and identify the right business models to commercialize and scale the next generation of solutions.

On 25 March, Sheik Bilal Khan, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the International Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA), which is the subsidiary of IOFS, will also make a presentation on IFPA’s objectives to build the B2B Platform for Enabling Intra-OIC Agri-Food Trade and Investment.
