The Director General of IOFS and the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Hold a Regular Meeting

On 16 June 2023, a regular working meeting was held between the Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, His Excellency Prof. Yerlan Alimzhanuly Baidaulet, and the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, His Excellency Mr. Yerbol Sh. Karashukeyev. The IOFS Director General informed the Minister about the results of the work accomplished by the Secretariat, during the time period since their last meeting in early 2023, as well as upcoming IOFS events, including the 11th IOFS Executive Board Meeting (June 23-24, 2023, Astana). During the meeting, a focus was given to the progress of the implementation of two IOFS pilot projects Sheep Farming Development and Bakery Supply Chain Production, aimed at expanding trade between the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation ( OIC ) in livestock products (mutton and lamb), as well as flour products with high added value. The parties also discussed furthering strategic plans for the implementation of other equally important initiatives and programs of the IOFS. The Director General also reported on the outcomes of the First IOFS Humanitarian Convoy to Afghanistan. The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan expressed full support for the programs of the IOFS and highlighted his readiness to assist in their implementation.
