Kazinform: Kazakh business delegation attends FoodAg-2024 intl exhibition in Pakistan
16 August 2024

At the invitation of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, a delegation from Kazakhstan attended the FoodAg-2024 II International Food and Agriculture Exhibition in Karachi from August 9 to 11. This event brought together key players from agriculture, beverage production, logistics, trade, and catering sectors. The Kazakh delegation explored various products, technologies, and services presented by leading Pakistani manufacturers and engaged in workshops on international certification, customs regulation, logistics, and sector-specific opportunities like dairy production, aquaculture, and horticulture. The delegation also conducted B2B negotiations with Pakistani companies to explore trade partnerships and joint projects. They visited Karachi's “Karachi Gateway Terminal Limited” and participated in an interactive session with the National Logistics Cell to discuss logistical capabilities and routes. The Kazakh representatives noted that Pakistani agricultural products, which are significant to Pakistan's GDP and employment, could see strong demand in their region. Pakistan's agricultural sector, contributing 24% to GDP and employing 37% of the workforce, is a major exporter of mangoes, rice, guava, dates, citrus fruits, and other produce.
