IOFS Initiates Bilateral Cooperation with Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD)

Astana, Kazakhstan - 12 December 2024 The Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) held a virtual meeting with the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) on 12 December 2024 to discuss opportunities for collaboration in food security and agricultural development. This meeting followed up on previous discussions between IOFS Director General H.E. Ambassador Berik Aryn and ADFD Director General H.E. Mr. Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi.

During the consultation, ADFD presented its funding modalities, which focus on concessional loans and equity participation for regional and innovative projects. IOFS showcased its strategic initiatives, including food security reserves and vertical farming practices, highlighting the need for cooperation to address food insecurity challenges in OIC Member States.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue collaboration, with IOFS planning to submit innovative country-based projects for ADFD’s consideration.
