On the 11th of April, 2023, the IOFS delegation, led by the Director of Country Operations Department, Ambassador Daulet Yemberdiyev, paid a working visit to the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The meeting was hosted by the Deputy Secretary General Ms. Chi Fang and Senior Officer Ms. Akmaral Kinzhebayeva.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects of cooperation between IOFS and CICA. Ms. Chi Fang mentioned that CICA has a keen interest in IOFS since the two institutions share 12 member countries. Ambassador Daulet Yemberdiyev suggested considering the possibility of joint work within the framework of global infrastructure projects such as China–Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Previously, аddressing the VI CICA Summit in Astana President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the significance of establishing cooperation between CICA and IOFS.
