This year, Kazakhstan has become one of the fastest-growing markets for Egyptian fruit and vegetable products, with Egypt leading the fresh strawberry export sector. According to EastFruit, Egypt rapidly ascended to become the top supplier of fresh strawberries to Kazakhstan, exporting nearly 1,400 tons in the 2023/24 marketing year, a significant increase from previous years. Egypt's share of Kazakhstan’s total fresh strawberry imports exceeded 55%, surpassing competitors like Azerbaijan and Turkey. This success highlights Egypt’s ability to diversify its fruit and vegetable exports and tap into emerging markets in Central and Southeast Asia. Asian importers will have the chance to explore further cooperation with Egyptian suppliers at the Asia Fruit Logistica exhibition in Hong Kong from September 4-6.
