On 3 September 2023, the Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), Prof. Yerlan Alimzhanuly Baidaulet, concluded a successful working visit to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he engaged in a high-level meeting with key stakeholders in the organization’s mission.
Prof. Baidaulet met with HE Mr. Eng. Mohammed Mousa Alameeri, Executive Board Member of IOFS and Assistant Undersecretary of the Food Diversity Sector at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment of the UAE, along with Mr. Saleh Lootah, CEO of the International Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA). The meeting served as an essential platform for discussing critical matters concerning the UAE’s support for IOFS/IFPA activities and the operational plan of IFPA for the year 2023.
During the discussions, the parties explored various facets of cooperation and collaboration aimed at advancing the shared goals of IOFS and IFPA. The sides outlined the strategic vision for the development of the operational activities of IFPA for 2023, highlighting key initiatives aimed at enhancing food processing capabilities across the Islamic world.
The UAE’s commitment to enhancing food security, promoting sustainable agriculture, and bolstering the food processing industry within the Islamic world was reaffirmed. Prof. Yerlan Baidaulet expressed his gratitude to the UAE for its unwavering support and emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships to address global food security challenges effectively.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further collaboration between IOFS, IFPA, and the UAE, focusing on impactful initiatives that will contribute to achieving food security and sustainability across the Organization of Islamic Cooperation ( OIC ) Geography.
