The Indonesian Government is set to focus on food security, health, and energy in its development cooperation with African nations during the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) in Bali from September 1–3, 2024. Siti Nugraha Mauludiah, Director General of Public Information and Diplomacy at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, announced that priority assistance will be given to these sectors. Indonesia has already extended grants to 23 of Africa’s 54 countries, covering areas such as capacity-building, infrastructure, and humanitarian aid. For 2024, seven grants are planned in food security, transportation, and energy, while 12 grants are proposed for 2025 in these same fields, along with disaster response. This effort follows the Indonesian President's recent visits to Africa and aims to create a comprehensive five-year development cooperation plan, aligning with Africa’s Agenda 2063 priorities.
