In the first half of 2024, Tajikistan's agricultural sector reported a gross output of 21.472 billion somoni, marking a 9.6% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to Statistics Agency Director Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda. Crop production was particularly strong, totaling 14.802 billion somoni, up by 10.9%, while animal husbandry output reached 666.9 billion somoni, a 6.7% increase. Key production figures included 685,340 tons of cereals, 267,111 tons of potatoes, 1.265 million tons of vegetables, 412,965 tons of melons, 224,826 tons of fruits, 2,705 tons of grapes, and 453,059 tons of forage. Notable growth was seen in melons (38%), fruits (21.3%), grapes (15.4%), and forage (3.6%), though cereal production slightly decreased by 2.8%. Dairy production also saw a rise, with 412,981 tons of milk produced (up 4.8%), 543 million eggs, 19,187 tons of poultry meat, and 5,489 tons of wool (up 5.1%).
